To Whom It May Concern:
It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for ARTistic Storage & Susan Winter. Susan worked with us on the installation of additional compactor units (housing a total of 96 specimen cabinets, and a full carriage with Long-Span Oversize Shelving) Susan was extremely helpful throughout the entire process, and I have no reservations about recommending her services.
The bulk of the Field Museum fossil mammal collection is stored in a series of compactorized cabinets and oversize shelving that was fabricated by Montel and installed in the mid-1990's. We recently received NSF funding that will allow us to integrate into the main collection a large number o unprocessed fossils that were collected in the Eocene of Wyoming. The addition of these specimens required the installation of additional compactors, cabinets, and shelving on the existing compactor rails, and we hoped to replicate the design of the original equipment as closely as possible.
Susan worked closely with us throughout the design phase of the project, and did an excellent job of handling everything from tracking down the same paint colors as our existing equipment to helping with the design of custom cabinets that actually improved upon the design of our existing cabinets. She was always very professional as we worked through various revisions of the designs, and helped to keep things on track with the manufacturers when internal delays at the museum arose. her management of the shipping and installation of equipment also was great, and she quickly solved minor problems that arose when some needed parts were left out of the initial shipments. Now that the equipment is installed, it looks great and operates very smoothly, and we'er already busy moving specimens into it.
In summery, Susan was an excellent partner for our project. From the bidding stage all the way through tot the final installation, she was punctual, responsive, and professional, and she seemed sincerely interested in making sure that things were done right. I recommend her highly, and would not hesitate to work with her in the future.
Sincerely,
Kenneth D. Angielczyk, Ph.D.
