I am writing on behalf of Artistic Storage and its Museum Specialist, Susan Winter, who provided a range of storage solutions for the Clyfford Still Museum.

The Clyfford Still Museum required a quality, well-conceived series of storage racks for its collection of roughly 800 paintings, most of them very large scale, and a high-density storage system for its 1600 works on paper. As is often the case, space was limited, however Susan was able to utilize various computer-modeling programs that analyzed a variety of solutions. Our plans also called for “open” (viewable) storage, so aesthetic considerations were also paramount.

Susan Winter was an excellent partner for our project and brought her many years of experience to the project team, which included architects, engineers, and contractors. She was able to work within our complex schedules and satisfy our needs “on-time, and on budget.” The final system is not only highly functional but visually compelling.

I would have no hesitation given Susan Winter and Artistic Storage my highest recommendation and prediction for success should she be engaged for a project or solution.

It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Susan Winter, Artistic Storage. I worked with Susan Winter to plan a new high-density mobile storage area for our household textiles, costume and fine arts collection in February 2011. I am happy to say that the system was successfully installed October 2011 and that I have been more than satisfied with the system and plan that Susan helped develop. I particularly appreciate the time that Susan spent on working with our architect to develop a plan that maximized the amount of usable storage space. Due to various unexpected expenses that arose with the overall project, I was forced to revise the storage plans several times. All through this process, Susan was extremely patient and worked hard to get us the best results that our budget could sustain.

Artistic Storage’s installation team installed the rails and the storage equipment. They were very professional and since the installation, I have had several months to work with the system. I am very pleased with the manual system produced by Montel. It operates very easily, smoothly, and almost effortlessly. I am also pleased by the quality of the equipment itself. We ordered drawers, trays, art screens, stationary wide span, as well as Smart Shelves and wall-mounted textile racks for rolled textile storage and I would not hesitate to recommend any of the products. There were one or two minor issues with the equipment delivered, but Susan worked on our behalf to have those issues resolved. I worked with Susan Winter to plan new high-density mobile storage areas for our collection and archives rooms in 2012/2013 and again in 2015/2016 on another collections storage room. I am happy to say that all the systems were successfully installed ahead of schedule and for the quoted price. Since then I have been more than satisfied with the system and plan that Susan helped develop. I particularly appreciate the time that Susan spent on working with NHS staff to develop a plan that maximized the amount of usable storage space.

There were one or two minor issues with the equipment delivered, but Susan worked on our behalf to have those issues resolved.
